Men Who Can't Love This book saved me from going crazy and from wasting any more of my precious time with a man who is a consumate commitmentphobic. I got this book after a therapist friend of mine said that all my complaining and moaning about my commitmentphobic boyfriend sounded just like the people in this book she'd read - "Men Who Can't Love". I got on line and nabbed a copy. What a life saver! My jaw dropped as I read this book because it describes the behaviors of commitmentphobics precisely as I have been experiencing my boyfriend's behavior. It's so true that the more I pressed him for answers while trying to understand his avoidant behaviors, the more he withdrew from me. "I don't wanna talk about it" is his mantra. All his behaviors were laid out like his biography in this book. It was shocking and revealing at the same time.

I Hate You, Don't Leave Me: Understanding the Borderline Personality This is a great book for an inside look at Borderline Personality Disorder. If you have a person with BPD in life this book is a must have. If you have BPD it will help you understand that some of your behaviors that seem unusual to other are understandable and can be explained and treated.

I know I have been a cp in the past, I married a totally unavailable man, but stayed married 10 yrs suffering abuse, the marriage was sacred to me. When I divorced I got into an affair with a married man, for 1 and 1/2 yrs. He said he was getting ready to leave his wife and had mentioned it to his son that he may divorce but the guilt and wrongness of the relationship was killing me and I left. I had became a Christian and was healed from a lot of childhood pain, after leaving this I met a man and became engaged, then he changed totally 2 days after giving me a ring.

Then I met a man who I respected because he didn't want to marry right away. 3 yrs later he was talking marriage without a definite proposal, then he backed off. Then the married man was back in my life because his wife died. By this time I really have grown to the point I really want an intimate and committed relationship. I had had the intimacy with him because we could not commit, I guess, and I had never found it with anyone else.

I was thrilled to have that opportunity with someone I had loved so much. He immediately began talking marriage, but would back off, then come back, then back off, constantly putting up walls to prevent us from becoming as close as we were before. He was still angry at me for leaving the relationship 10 yrs before or at least mentioned it many times and we talked about it until I thought he was past it, 7 months later when we should have been closer, he up and begins dating someone else, citing he was looking for something and maybe he could find everything with one woman. One of the things he like admittedly was money, she has lots of it. So, now 8 months later they are married, yes, he backed out of the relationship, telling friends he only said he might want to get married and she began planning the wedding, but back he went, then 2 days before the wedding he called it off, but ended up going through with it.

This was the biggest disappointment I have ever experienced. He had led me to believe I was the only one he'd had an affair with but I found out that was not true at all. It all left me so confused, because he actually seemed like he wanted to have what I wanted but did every thing to ruin it. Now, I have to convince myself that he will continue what he did in his first marriage to this woman, even though I believed in him so much before, or at least this would make me feel that I was not the looser. I cannot go through this again with another man.
