Breakup With a Narcissist: Living with, loving, and leaving a narcissist. How to survive it all! | The Bastard System - Why Women Love Bastards | Breaking Up Advice For Men | Hello, Casanova
Tammy was what most men would refer to as a 'knock-out'. She was beautiful, with long silky hair, a sleek sensual body, and scorching violet eyes. Yet she couldn't find a man to love her the way she needed to be loved. Of course they all started out great, pursuing her to no end, they would lavish her with expensive presents, and vivid compliments that would make her pulse race. But they either quickly lost interest in her, she lost interest in them, or they lacked the qualities she desired in a mate.
Ron was exciting. Racy, rich, and totally head over heels in love with Tammy. Tammy enjoyed his pursuit. She played hard to get - totally enjoying the attention, and phone calls, and gifts, and flowers, and expensive restaurants, and island get-aways. She was swept off her feet in just a mere three-months flat. Three of the most exhilarating, thrilling months of her life. She soon found the two of them sharing intimate confessions of their undying love for each other . It was wonderful! Tammy couldn't imagine being any happier. But then a funny thing happened. Ron, all though in love with Tammy, had stopped pursuing her. And why should he continue, after all - he already won her heart. So their relationship settled down, getting calmer and more comfortable. Where once they never left each other's side, Tammy now found that at cocktail parties they would often drift apart - each visiting their own little preferred group to converse with. Evenings at home were to become just as boring. Their conversations were limited. They both got up in the morning and went to their respective jobs. They both came home at night and ate dinner in silence - and Tammy soon found herself very bored. Ron was stuffy, stoic, unexciting, and totally predictable. Tammy was bored out of her mind!
Tammy eventually broke it off with Ron when another man, Kevin, took an avid interest in her. Tammy let Kevin pursue her for a couple of months, and she eventually found herself attracted to him. But when Kevin started to feel more secure in the relationship Tammy soon became bored with him, too. She could never spend her life with a man that was so dull!
Then Tammy met a man named Cameron. Where Kevin and Ron had moved mountains trying to win Tammy's heart, Cameron was not at all interested in her. Great beauty or not, he was not to be had. Tammy's life became once again exciting as she was now the pursuer, chasing this man and using every female wile that she had in her. She dressed in her most sexiest, alluring outfits, and donned the most seductive smile. She laughed at all of his jokes and sent him cute little emails. Tammy even found herself in the kitchen, apron on, baking his favorite foods. Finally, all of Tammy's efforts paid off and Cameron admitted he was totally head over heels in love with her. He would never leave her side and begged Tammy for her hand in marriage. Tammy excitedly accepted and they were married just a few weeks later. Five months into their marriage Tammy found herself wondering if she had made a mistake. She wasn't in love with Cameron anymore, and seriously doubted if she ever really was. She promptly filed for a divorce just one-half year after their wedding day. "I just can't spend the rest of my life with a man I don't love," Tammy was quoted as saying.
What was Tammy's problem? Commitment-phobia. Although beautiful, Tammy suffered from low self-esteem. She was in love with the thrill of the kill. It bolstered her ego and made her feel alive and worthy. But once she won she quickly became bored, and those old feelings of inadequacy started to creep up on her. She needed to find a new conquest to quickly replace the boredom.
